Directed, produced, and written by veteran tv newscaster and filmmaker Art Holliday, “Johnnie Be Good” tells the story of piano master Johnnie Johnson, one of the founders of rock and roll. Michael McDonald narrates, and the cast includes a who’s who of music and movies: Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir, the late Bo Diddley, Bonnie Raitt, Ernie Isley, Ian McLagan, Dr. John, blues legend Buddy Guy, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, movie director Taylor Hackford, Bruce Hornsby, former Letterman band leader Paul Shaffer, British acting legend Malcolm McDowell, Oscar winner Lou Gossett Jr., John Sebastian, The Kentucky Headhunters, Chuck Leavell, Conan O’Brien band members Jimmy Vivino, Mike Merritt, and James Wormworth, Johnnie Johnson protege Dona Oxford, and Eddie Money.
