MCLAGAN PLAYS LETTERMAN SHOW

MCLAGANMac Praises Johnnie As A Major Influence

In a previous blog, I told you about my trip to Austin TX this year to interview Ian McLagan. Mac is known for being a member of The Faces with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood.

Tuesday, June 16, Mac and his Bump Band will be showcased on Late Night with David Letterman. When I interviewed McLagan, he cited Johnnie as one of the four major musical influences in his career. Check out a friend of JOHNNIE BE GOOD on the Letterman show.

Sizzling Platter of the Year!Ian McLagans Never Say Never is the best album of the year, bar none.–Jeffrey Morgan, Creem Magazine & Detroit Metro TimesFrom the Faces-style boogie Im Hot, Youre Cool to the tossed-off skiffle Killing Me with Love, its a disc to dance, drink and cry in your beer to all at the same time.–Mark Kemp, Rolling StoneIt (Never Say Never) captures a band of pirates bashing it out, staving off closing time with another pint and another song. McLagan’s weathered voice is perfect for a mix of raucous shouters and 3 a.m. ballads. ”When the Crying Is Over” leaves not a dry eye in the house at last call. –Greg Kot, Entertainment Weekly(Austin, TX June 10, 2009) British rock legend Ian McLagans new album Never Say Never was released nationally on March 3, on 00:02:59 Records at BB Kings in New York City.
